Tiger Woods has been back starting yesterday for the World Golf Championship Accenture Match Play. All eyes were on Tiger Woods in his return. He was able to defeat Brendan Jones in the first round. Woods birdied the first hole from 4 feet, earned a conceded eagle on the second. The world's top player handled 64th-seeded Brendan Jones of Australia 3 and 2 Wednesday in the first round.
"I thought it would take me a little bit longer to get into the rhythm of the round and try to find it," Woods said. "But I came out and felt good."
Woods showed and apparently felt no ill-effects from surgery last June in which the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee was reconstructed, one week after he beat Rocco Mediate in their Monday playoff at Torrey Pines.
